I want to share a frustrating experience with Carmel’s service, which was disappointing. I booked a sedan ride from JFK to my home in Queens. The booking process was easy and quick, and I was pleased with its convenience. However, do you know what happened? I got a driver who couldn’t speak English! After a long flight from Italy, I was exhausted and had to deal with this. The only way to communicate was by speaking in English on his phone, which was then translated into Mandarin. I had to do this all the way until I got home. Even in an emergency, I could only close my eyes and think about the bad situation.
Feeling frustrated, I tried to complain to Carmel, and they told me that they could legally employ non-English-speaking drivers and that there was nothing they could do about it. I was beyond upset when I heard that. At least, if you’re working in NYC, shouldn’t you be able to speak basic English? That was the worst day I’ve ever had.
